Big portions, friendly staff, really nice place to get something to eat. We weren't for breakfast and were not disappointed with the food choices. I had the grilled pork chops with over medium eggs and the biscuits and gravy.
The food is great, but when you walk in and you have to greet the server that is a little awkward, make customer service great again please!
This place is awesome! Service is always on point! The Sunday turkey dinner is amazing and fridays ribs are my favorite.. ask for Delia or Niecie when you go in and tell them Wayne sent you.. you won't regret it!
Sugar Mill Sat morning. Wife and I ordered cornbeef, pancakes, bacon and eggs. Inside area was clean and cozy. Food was great although too much. Service was outstanding and offered us free desert for our anniversary. 5
Went for mom's birthday today Mom, Adam and Diane got the chicken fried steak Scott got liver and onions. I just got a bowl of chili. Everything was so delicious. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing Hostess and waitress were super nice Will definitely be back .
I introduced this place to my man and he loves going! We especially appreciate their waiter Charles! He provides the BEST service and we enjoy their delicious breakfast menu!
This is one of our favorites to visit!!! This maybe be our regular spot on Wednesday's since they have my favorite, Navy Bean Soup. It is loaded with chunks of ham and car and celery and of course Navy Beans!!! It has the right consistency and fill with awesome flavors!!!! The service is always some of the best in Bakersfield. It's nice to walk in a see some familiar faces and listen to the servers greeting them will you have your usual!!!!
The Sugar Mill is kern county staple it's been around for years and I finally got myself to break away from my usual go to breakfast spots and try some place different. I have to say it was okay not great I was kinda disappointed that the Gravy wasn't homemade it was a typical food service bag gravy although the biscuits seemed to be made in house the gravy was the bummer. The pancakes were pretty good and my wife's Chicken fried steak was pan fried but seemed to be lacking a bit of seasoning. The country potatoes were pretty delicious. In my honest opinion I'd give the food a 3.5 I decided to give it 4 stars on Yelp because the service was great the staff was friendly and attentive. Maybe on the next go around I'll try something different on the menu and update my review.
